Essential Oils, essential for ME!

Essential Oils...

Essential Oils are and have been a hot topic for a while. Are these essential oils truly miracle workers, all-powerful and healing? Ehhhh... I don't think so, but I love ESSENTIAL OILS!

Why you may ask. Well, let me start by saying that even though they may not be all-powerful and healing there is something to be said about the uplifting scent of sweet orange, or when I'm having trouble sleeping just dropping a few drops of Lavender in my diffuser. I use essential oils when I'm extra stressed and as part of my self-care.

What are the best essential oils?

I'm not an essential oil expert but what I do look for are oils that state 100% pure and that are from a trusted source. This doesn't mean that the $100.00 bottle of Rose Essential oil is better than the $40.00 bottle, do your research and find a company that aligns with your values. I love supporting small essential oil companies that are transparent and share their GC/MS reports on their websites. I've used all sorts of essential oils from different companies and I've found a couple of companies I love.

In addition to diffusing essential oils, I use them in my cleaning products. I don't use them in my laundry as I've seen recommended only because I've heard that oil can catch fire in the dryer and that's just not a risk I'm willing to take. I use unscented laundry detergent and we love the unscented scent on our clothes.

What are my favorite essential oil scents?

Why thank you for asking, here is a small list of some of my favorites.

  1. Plant Therapy- Lavender- Love this oil to relax and just set a calming mood. This is my go-to when I just want something sweet and calming.
  2. Plant Therapy- Sweet Orange- This is one of my go-to's for an uplifting scent. It smells so delicious like a ripe orange rind.
  3. Plant Therapy- Tea Tree- I've heard so much about the anti-bacterial properties, I just had to use it in my cleaning recipes, and it doesn't disappoint. This amazing oil always leaves my spaces smelling fresh.
  4. Plant Therapy- Pine- This is another oil that I use for cleaning. I was missing the scent of my old unhealthy cleaning products so I purchased this oil to add to my DIY cleaners and wow, it was such a great surprise! I don't think I'll ever go back to those fake pine-smelling cleaners, this Pine scent smells so natural, I just don't understand how I once settled for fake pine scents.
  5. Plant Therapy- Lime- I found this scent by accident. I ordered it and didn't really use it much but one day I decided to put it in my diffuser and my house smelled like a fresh, salty, margarita! I fell in love with the freshness, I've also diffused it with some vanilla for a sweet and fresh scent.
  6. Plant Therapy- Vanilla- Vanilla is vanilla but this vanilla is so pure it's strong. I typically diffuse this scent with another and only add 2-3 drops of this essential oil as it can be overpowering when you use too much.
  7. Plant Therapy- Lemon- This scent is my backup cleaning DIY scent. I use this in my DIY Dish soap and mix it with my Calmoura essential oil as a scent in my all-purpose spray.
  8. Plant Therapy- Pink Grapefruit- This is just like sweet orange but without the sweetness, if that makes sense, this is a wake-you-up-in-the-morning grapefruit scent. It's an uplifting scent to diffuse.
  9. Plant Therapy- Chill Out- As I'm writing this, I'm currently out of this oil but wow, oh wow, oil has blue tansy and blue tansy is my absolute favorite oil, I can't explain the scent of other than it's something special. I smell this scent and I'm instantly relaxed, it could absolutely be all mental, but it works for me.
  10. Plant Therapy- Self-Esteem-This is another blue tansy oil mix, it's not as wonderful as my Chill out but it's probably my second favorite to diffuse or just smell straight out of the bottle.
  11. Calmoura- THIE-VES- This is that cinnamon, clove, lemon homey scent. It smells amazing, I use this for cleaning and sometimes I diffuse it also. I find mixing this oil with sweet orange during the fall just sets the mood in my house. It just makes us all feel cozy.

If you're looking to start with oils give the above oils a try. In addition to the above companies, I'll like a couple of other essential oils I love and they aren't going to break the bank.

I'm all about saving a dollar and getting the best quality for the lowest price. I love talking essential oils so feel free to reach out and if I know the answer I'll be happy to help.

Please know, that I'm not at all sponsored by anyone, none of these companies know that I'm writing this post, these are my personal and honest opinions.

Testing 123, does anyone still read blogs?

Does anyone still read blogs? Yes, No, maybe so? Well, as a working mother and after the worldwide pandemic, I decided, it was time to get back into blogs. Why you may ask? We live in a fast-moving world where YouTube is a thing of the past and now people want short-form content, but what about those of us who enjoy reading on a quiet morning? Those of us who enjoy cleaning, organizing, makeup, and adore our families? Well, Blog it is!  I've decided to start a blog not because I feel I have an innovative story to tell but to use this more as a journal of my daily adventures as a happily married mother of a teenager and a little girl. This is the second time I've started a blog, but again, life gets busy, so I closed it down. My goal for this blog is to write to feed my soul and NOT DELETE IT! There is something so vulnerable about sharing your thoughts and ideas with others. I've seen the internet CANCEL folks, and I live in my bubble of indestructible happiness, I don'
